Rocking Test
One very simple and easy way to check that your buying premium quality Bamboo panels (fence, screens, dividers) is by doing the rocking test
What we are looking for in the rocking test is to see if the Bamboo panel moves as one solid piece, as if it was one piece of Bamboo.
- Stand Bamboo panel vertically and rock panel from side to side
- See that the Bamboo panel is moving as one solid piece
- Note that each bamboo half raft will move separately in a poor-quality Bamboo panel
There are two things to look out for in a Bamboo panel in terms of quality craftsmanship that support the rocking test.
- Evenly cut top and bottom using a machine table saw
- Precisely cut dado joints (Wikipedia Dado (joinery)
When on a search for Bamboo panels, the Rocking Test (hyperlink) will ensure that you won’t, within a matter of months, be tearing down a poor-quality Bamboo panel fence.
